Thank you, Susan. Will try that. Wish it had stated where Inez Waughtel
had received her divorce though. She's my relative in this instance.

In answer to a time limit for remarrying, that was sometimes ordered
by
the judge. In fact I have two newspaper articles from Shelby County
stating the judge imposed a two year wait period. Interesting that the time
frame betweeen Herbert's two marriages is almost two years. I looked in the
Newspaper microfilms for a divorce decree annoucement for Herbert and did
not find one. Your best bet would be to contact the Clerk's Office as all
the divorce records are located at the courthouse.

Was there a time limit in between a divorce and a re-marriage? It does
state (no
legal restraint) for each party. It also states that the man was
divorced June 15, 1905 in Shelby County, Indiana. Although it states the
woman divorced October 20, 1905 it does not state where. The application was
May 18, 1907 and the marriage was June 5, 1907. The parties of the marriage
are Inez C. Waughtel and Herbert Elsworth Wilson. Can anyone help me with
this? Would I be able to order a copy of the Shelby County divorce? Would
anyone know the spouse of the first marriage for either party?
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
