Yes, these seem like great clues. I don't see John and Ollie/Minnie/Maude
Braden in our county cemetery books
(
)
but I see someone that could be their son, George. I'll check the library
for his obit. George is buried in Noble Twp, so his parents could easily be
buried in Bartholomew or Decatur County -- you gotta love those corner
townships!

Subject: Re: [INSHELBY] JOHNSON
In the 1880 census, George and Hester, living in Washington Township,
have
a Minnie Barber, age 5 with the relationship listed as "living with", in
their household.
In researching for a marriage, I found a Ollie M. Barber who married a
John Braden December 2, 1891 in Shelby County. This same couple with four
children are listed on the same page ( but not the same household) as
George Johnson( who is living alone) in the 1900 census. Ollie M.
(possibly Minnie) is listed as age 25 in the 1900 census, making her 5 in
1880. One of this couple's sons is named George. In the 1910 census, she
is listed as Maude Braden. It is possible Minnie was a nickname if this
is the right person.
This is all supposition at this point, maybe an obit for Ollie Maude
Barber Braden would clear it up.
