Sandy and All: Blows me away these folks are that greedy and self serving to destroy
their heritage so callously, just how much does a small plot produce anyway??? I have
seen same thing here in Missouri where family has many hundreds, maybe a few thousand
acres... Not a care.

There was a cemetery in Sugar Creek Twp. that was plowed up this year.
No body gives these people permission, they just do it. Fortunately it
was one we had photographed so we know what it looked like and who was
buried there.

Excuse me....But WHO gave these people permission to destroy headstones and
use the cemetaries for other purposes. I would really like to know.

Pat, Unfortunately it was standard practice in many mid west states (and
probably other areas) to simply plough under old cemeteries. Headstones have
been used for many other things, including stepping stones. Many of the old
cemeteries fell into disuse and simply vanished. My great Grandfather and two
of
his children;s graves suffered that same fate. Apparently land was
more
important than graves.
