Carleen,
I don't remember seeing a response to your question. As far as I know, they were never
microfilmed. When Phyllis and I first started working in the cellar storage room at the
courthouse, I had asked Cathy Laird if they had been and she said that they hadn't.
That's why Phyllis and I spent so much time working on trying to catalog and
transcribe what we could. Some of what is stored out there is on the Shelby County site.
When they moved the records over to the old Pearson school, I was amazed to see how much
more that there actually was....I had no idea that what we had been working on was only a
drop in the bucket. According to what Cathy Laird had told me, the records that were still
in their office were the ones that had been microfilmed. There was talk of doing the
records in storage, but the people that were working on the project ran out of time and
said that they would be back....but had no idea when. I think that we are still waiting.

Subject: [INSHELBY] One more Mildew question
Phyllis, Melinda, Barbara, and anybody else who might know.
Do you know what those records are? Probate, Ct mins, land records, etc.?
Could they possibly be among the one the LDS mirofilmed eons ago?
Hope the snow has not overpowered you'all up there!
Carleen
