Will try again to reply, sorry my reply went away still have a lot to learn about my new
computer - We are related in some way, so I'll try to lay it out for you the best I
can. Our direct line is from Samuel E. Perry, oldest son of Job W. Perry & 1st wife,
Sarah Jane Wilson. She died on 1 Mar 1861, when youngest known son, Noah Francis Perry
was not even a year old. Noah Francis Perry was born 5 May 1860.
Samuel E. Perry was born 7 Oct 1835, Marietta, Shelby county, IN according to his Civil
War Records, but Perry Family Bible and family records say he was born 1833. He was among
the first to enroll at Shelby county on 28 Aug 1861 as a Pvt. in Co "D" 33rd
Reg. Ind Inf. Vol.& was Honorably Discharged following the "Battle of
Anlanta" on 19 Sep 1864. He served in Coburn's Brigade and under William T.
Sherman's command returning to his home, at Shelby county, IN. His father had married
Jerusha Ann (Story) widow of Oliver P. Larimore on 21 May 1864, Shelby county, IN. Oliver
P. Larimore died during the Civil War 15 Nov 1862,Lebanon, KY. Our Grandfather, Samuel E.
Perry married 1st wife, Nancy Elizabeth Larmer on 22 Dec 1864. Affectionally called
"Lizzie" by all. Nancy Elizabeth was the daughter of Oliver P. & Jerusha A.
(Story) Larmer/Larimore. She was born 2 Sep 1846 and died 18 Jan 1866, Marietta, Shelby
county, IN. Samuel E. & Nancy Elizabeth Perry had no children. We are!
direct decendant of Samuel E. Perry & 2nd wife, Sarah Malavie Jane Young d/o James
W. Young & Nancy Ann Lee. Children of Samuel E. & Sarah M.J.(Young)Perry are: John
Thomas Perry, born 30 Nov 1873; Sarah Leona Jane Perry, born 11 May 1878; Joseph Andrew
Perry, born 7 Jan 1880; Ollie May Perry, born13 Aug 1882 and the youngest, our father,
Benjamin Franklin Sherman Perry, born 12 Nov 1890. Grandmother, Sarah M.J. (Young) Perry
was born 16 May 1858,IN and a Marietta neighbor Grandfather, Samuel E. Perry knew &
held as a child b/4 the Civil War. She was raised by her Uncle Lee, (brother of her
mother, Nancy Ann(Lee) Young. Hope this gets through to you for now. Grateful
appreciation for all you have shared with me. We are trying to put all the pieces
together. They were all pulling together against all odds, during a most difficult time
past. They were part of what makes our country great and so proud of our beloved
ancestors. Thanks again for everything. Anxious to share. !
