The Sagawa Tribe No. 263 was in Boggstown, IN. I have one of their original
badges or Medallions purchased at an auction some years ago. However, the
lodge met over a frame store building on Boggstown Road that is now know as
the Boggstown Inn and Cabaret. Still trying to establish dates for this.
Also looking for more information for our local history being researched for
The Joseph Boggs Society. The building had a hall above the store with a
stage, and in later years has been used many different ways and at one time
was living quarters.

This is one of those stories that may make a genealogist sick. Back
in
the mid 1960s my Dad and I went to Boggstown and found the man who owned
the old Redman's lodge building (I have no idea of his name but I seem
to recall he lived across the street). It was an old red brick building
that was really pretty much abandoned then. Anyway, he took us inside
where there was a desk (not a particularly interesting one) and pulled a
couple of ledgers out of a drawer. These were supposed to be the records
of the Redman's lodge there. Dad sat at the desk and went thru them
looking for GERMANs, but did not find any. I was a teenager then. I have
no idea what became of those ledgers, in fact I have not been to
Boggstown in several years - I would be suprised if the old building was
still standing. For some reason this exchange on the list stirred up
this old memory. BTW I think the initials stand for Improved Order of
Red Men
