Kathryn,
These would be the Guardianship records. We have some online, but the rest
are available at the courthouse.

Subject: Court Records
Melinda or Phyllis:
Was there an orphans' court at Shelby Co. in its earliest days -
and are there records from it?
I'm still looking for information about Joseph Allen (1790-1825)
and family. A recent newsleltter mentioned not to overlook the
Orphans' Court records. Children were considered orphans when
their fathers died, whether or not the mother was living. The
children of Joseph and Mary Allen were: Ezbon, b. 1815, NY;
Louisa, 1819 NY; Ann 1821 Shelby Co; William 1822 Shelby Co.
Thanks for your help - and for all the valuable information you
are providing for all of us with roots in Shelby Co.
