Message Board Post:
I have been trying to trace Matilda Reed's parents in Shelby County. She was born 1827 in Ohio, but was not named in a census prior to her 1846 marriage to Samuel Hildebrand in Shelby County. She would have been 13 years old in the 1840 census. There is a possibility that her father may be Rev. Wm. Reed. Anyone researching Shelby County Reeds?

I also have done some Sherwood and Stone research starting in Shelby Co. My
Levi and Lucinda [Kitchell Young's first child, Caroline, m Thomas Sherwood.
His family was from Franklin Co before this., and this couple moved there
after their marriage.
When Levi Young died, Lucinda m Alfred Stone.
I do not know his relationship to the other Stone family in Shelby, but I
think there must be. He was born in NY, as they were. I have not found him as
HH in any previous census', though he was old enough to have grown children.
He and Lucinda had a daughter in the 1850c named "Percy" [ or she was called
that]; her grandfather Kitchell was "Percy." so it could be a nickname.
Anyway, the above daughter was only 6 yrs old in 1850, and it is possible
Lucinda could have had more Stone children. However, she, Alfred & Percy
disappear after that census. I have no way of knowing if they had more children.
Thomas and Caroline were m in 1842, Shelby. Maybe Thomas and Samuel are kin
[brothers} so how?
