Darlena: I have been heir to a Benjamin Drake--Maria Smith family album. In the album there are many pictures from the immediate family, including Benjamin and Maria, as well as others from Calhoun Co. and New York. Unfortunately, only a few of the pictures have names attached. Possibly some pictures of Smith family relatives of Maria. I would be happy to share these pictures with you, in the hope of identifying more family members. George Riddell
Thanks, Sheri. I have the scans from the Bible and will be posting them on the Decatur County GenWeb pages when I return home from an overseas trip.

Hi all,
Does anyone have a source record for William Baker's date of birth?
While I have his military records and pension file, they only say his age of 30
and never give his date of birth. I didn't find a death certificate and his
obituary doesn't give the date.
I think he is buried in Bennett Cemetery-does anyone know if the birth date
is on the tombstone? And even though I grew up in Waldron-I'm not sure where
Bennett Cemetery is but I assume it is somewhere near Rays Crossing and Blue
Ridge.
Thanks for any help.
(And Susan-I will get the military file to you soon!)

If a will cannot be located, you might try looking for a probate record. My
two Shelby Co. great grandfathers did not have wills but did have property and
their probate records had a lot of information.

I am looking for information on the Cartmel family, specifically the parents
of Harrison and Preston Cartmel parents. I am also looking for information
on the Manship and Platt families.
