1883 fire
by Phyllis Miller Fleming
It is quite a story. Leaves lots of questions, as does all family history,
huh? George's email showing the future arrest records wasn't an encouraging
account of our humanness.
I appreciated knowing the "layout" of that part of town, the neighbors, etc.
The paper describes the house being on the "extreme south end of Vine
street." I drive through that area at least once a day. Since I have lived
here (1991), Vine street has ended at Broadway. Does anyone know if Vine St
extended south of Broadway at that time?
