Is this the Whitlock Arnold who was a son of Larkin Arnold and Celia Foust?
Bob, how are you related to them? You don't happen to have the Arnold
Reunion Minutes do you? I have a copy of one page and that's all. I also
have lots of holes in the Arnold tree.

I have a question about the article about Harrell Coers & his automobile
accident at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inshelby/newspaper/news_index.htm
I have a record of a child born to William H. Coers & Edna Harrell who was
born on Feb. 26, 1901, but no name. Does anybody know if this was Harrell
Coers?
I also show these siblings & wonder if there were more?
Vivian Coers b. September 08, 1904
Gale T. Coers b. July 05, 1911.
(See Index To Birth Records Shelby County 1882-1920 Inclusive Volume I
Letters A-L Inclusive p. 73.)
Edna Harrell Coers, dau. John B. Harrell & Harriet Powell
John B. Harrell, son of Granville Sidney "GS" Harrell & Eliza Totten
GS Harrell son of Byrum Harrell & Sally Oldham Pertle, early Shelby County
settlers.
Thanks,
Mary Harrell
Those are wonderful pictures. If we don't have any of our own folks, we can,
at least, see what they may have been wearing at the time. I have always
laminated that women's fashion was so heavy, hot, and cumbersome, while men
could wear just a shirt and pants. But now, looking at these old pictures, I
see something I did not see before. Women's clothing always fit so much
better! I guess they could fiddle around and make their dresses fit just
right and tailoring was harder and men probably did not stand for too much
"fiddling". I bet he was glad when he could afford a suit made by a
professional tailor for himself!
(Bet she was glad too!).

My grandmother was Bertha Louise Nugent, born in London, Indiana on Dec. 5, 1886.
She married William Wright on Dec. 8, 1905 in Shelby County, Indiana.
Her father was William Nugent, born in Kentucky, her mother was Mary Deal Nugent, born in Illinois.
I am looking for their ancestors, some of whom are said to be Native American.

Are there two Pleasant Grove Cemeteries in Shelby County ? I am looking for
the one where Hardin Shirley is buried.
Bob Gordon found this picture of a Mattoon, Coles Co, IL, couple. It was
taken in the 1930s.
If you have any connections with Mattoon or Coles Co IL, I would love to
hear about them. PhyllisMillerFleming(a)starband.net
