I have been curious about the Brent & Fuller I have been seeing
mentioned in conjunction with Shelby Co. What was the first name? I
have a great grandmother Susan Hendrickson Petty (1843-1919) from
Shelby Co who took as her second man (we don't know if he married her;
we can't find a marriage record anywhere) a Fuller with whom she had a
son, Marshall Eastman Fuller around 1880. He had sons George William
and Paul Fuller. Anyone recognize these Fullers? Susan later married
Richard Good with whom she had Arnold Good.

My Shelby Co. grandpa, Robert Sherman DeWitt, b. 1864, was an old man when he
went to visit a Fuller cousin. I've been trying to identify that cousin for
a long time.

Surname: Archer, Mestsker
-------------------------
I have found a record of a second marriage of my GGGGrandfather Charles
W Archer in Shelby County to Leila P Mestsker on 2-8-1911. Charles was
born in Owens Co about 1870 and died in Chicago about 1950. He was a dentist
and had offices in Gary Indiana and Indianapolis Indiana. Leila was a hat
maker in Chicago in the 1940s. Leila's last name may be mispelled since
I can't find any record of the name Mestsker in any genealogical database.
The children of John Walker and Frances Allen: Ann Crawford Walker, William
J. Walker, Benjamin Powell Walker, Frances Allen Walker, Mary Jane Walker,
John Crawford Walker, Harriet Bisby Walker, and Martha Mathilda Walker. You
can find out more information on the Walker line by going to: Descendants of
Robert Walker of Ireland and Cumberland Co. PA. John Crawford Walker was my
Great Grandfather.
I just found another "cousin," Pat Walker, this time from my Walker line
and some new information has come to light. Francis C. Walker, my 3rd
great grandfather was the son of John & Mary Walker. He was born in NY,
and came to Shelby Co. about 1818, is it possible that John Walker of
Shelby Co. was his father? This information is from sources I haven't
really seen yet, but I am of course trying to make everything nice and
neat. This probably won't work as the deeper I get into my Brown line,
the more confusing and controversial it is becoming.
But anyway does anyone have information on John Walker. Is there
anything in Chadwick's, or Brent & Fuller's about him? I haven't
received my Chadwick's yet so I would appreciate any help to attempt to
link these two.
Thanks.........Rick Leland

There are more than just familiar Brown names here, Meeks, and some
others I have seen on the list. This is also a great example of
cemetery restoration.
Rick
Phyllis,
I want to thank you so much for the information. I was impressed with your
taking the time to help me and I am grateful.
I certainly realize I am a novice and there is sooo! much to learn. I will
try and write to Shelby Co. for a Marriage Certificate...hadn't thought of
that.
Brice Cummings is buried in the Eastern Cemetery in Louisville, KY. I paid
a man to go try and get a photo of his and Eva's grave for me and learned
there is a lawsuit involving the burying more than one person in a grave.
Unfortunately their stone has been destroyed and someone else is in the same
grave............it is hard to believe that this has happen in such a large
cemetery.
I have relatives in Shelby Co., IN but, I thought this site was Shelbyville,
KY. Early descendants of Brice and Eva Cummings went to Shelbyville, IN so,
who knows fate may have helped me make this mistake.
I will stay on the list and watch for a while.
Marsha

Thank you, Phyllis for putting the rest of the wedding in there. That was my 'bedtime' story and was glad to be able to finish it today! <G>
I appreciate reading all the little snippets that Phyllis works so diligently to add to the site. Whether you are related or not - these are great stories to read!! I applaud Phyllis!!!
