Hi,
I found him in Cowlitz County, Washington in 1880. The first transcontinental railroad was
completed in 1869 so it's difficult to say if they traveled via the Oregon Trail.
When my ancestors came west in about 1886 to eastern Washington, they took the train to
Sprague, Washington and then a couple day wagon journey to settle near Wilbur, WA.
You can learn a lot more about the oregon trail by doing a Google search. Interstate 80
follows the trail today.
Also the oregon-california trails association has a lot of info about the trail and
it's travelers. Successful Searching!
