Smith family from Ripley County, Indiana 1830-1900
My great grandfather is William Henry (Smith) Baldwin (b. 1892 Ripley, Indiana) the son of
Sarah Ellen Smith (b. 1874 Jackson, Ripley County, Indiana). I can not locate either of
their father's names. The following is information is what I have gather so far.
J. Smith and Lucinda Smith had a daughter named Sarah Ellen Smith.
J. Smith (name taken from marriage record for Sarah to William F Baldwin) No other
information on her father.

Sarah Ellen Smith gave birth to William Henry Smith on 18 Mar 1892 in Ripley County
Indiana.
Sarah Ellen Smith married William Franklin Baldwin on 9 Nov 1896 in Decatur, Indiana.
On the 1900 census for William and Sarah Baldwin, William Henry Smith is listed as a
step-son of William. On the 1910 census he is listed as William Baldwin Jr.
Any information on the fathers of Sarah Ellen Smith and William Henry Baldwin would be
greatly appreciated.
