I've "rescued" an old photograph identified as Gus BEHLMER of Batesville,
Indiana which was taken at the A. Zengel Studio in Batesville. The
photograph appears to have been taken in the 1880's with Gus likely in his
early teens at the time. Based on limited research I was able to locate the
following information regarding Gus and his family:
August H. BEHLMER was b. Feb 1869 in IN to parents Johann Heinrich BEHLMER
(b. 11 Sept 1845 in Hanover or Godesdforf, Germany) and Susan GUNTER (b.
1846 in IN), August was one of 8 children born to this couple including,
August H.; John Albert; Henry John; Edward R.; William Frederick; Annie
Margaretha; John William; and Frank Frederick Gerhart BEHLMER. The children
were all born in IN between 1869 and 1881.
August d. 1938, and is buried in the Saint Marks Cemetery in Batesville, IN.
