This is such an old query I'm not sure anyone cares anymore, however:
The connection of the Wilson surname of this query via Alexander Wilson Stewart may be
possible but I haven't found anything that would lead me down that path. The
"first" A.W. Stewart was my great-great grandfather. I'm currently
suspecting that his parents were Hugh Stewart and Susanna(h) Wilson. I've recently
found a birth record for an A.W.S. in "Presbyterian Records of Baltimore City",
Baltimore, MD. My A.W. crossed the Ohio River from Boone Co., KY and went up Laughery
Creek to settle in Ripley Co. , where he was the treasurer for the county. I'm
suspecting there was a split between him and his family, however, records indicate that
some of his children went back to Boone Co. to marry.
If anyone has information that might connect with these Stewarts/Connells or Wilsons
I'd be glad to hear from you. Many years ago I left a notebook, "The Stewarts of
Ripley County, Indiana and Beyond' at the R.C.H.S. It was filled with family record
sheets which, at this point , I'm sure could use some updating when I can visit again.
It's been 10 or 15 years since I was there and many changes have occurred in my life
and everyone elses. I'll never forget what a super time I had meeting many wonderful
cousins that still live in Ripley County.
