Re:Meisberger family of Ripley Co. In.
In the "Ripley Co. History of Indiana, 1988, Vol 1," published by Ripley Co.
Historical Society are several histories of the Meisberger family. The
family of Joseph Meisberger born 19 May 1905 and married, probably in 1828 or
29 in Antwerp, Prussia, Elizabeth Sistersheim born 1809, died 21 Nov. 1886.
In April 1846 at the age of 48 years Joseph and his wife Elizabeth, their 6
children, his mother Maria Margareta, his brother Peter, and his sister
Catharine immigrated to the U.S. and arrived in New Orleans in May 1846 and
settled in Ripley Co. IN. Joseph declared citizenship in Sept. 1852. Joseph
and Elizabeth had 4 more children in U.S.

Peter I, b. 15 May 1833, d. 16 May 1917.
Mary 14 Jan 1837, d. 06 Aug 1878.
Elizabeth, b. 15 June 1841, d. 26 May 1922.
Jacob, b. 18 April 1843, d. 19 June 1905.
Catharine, b. 15 May 1845, d. 24 Nov 1917.
John, b. 22 Sept 1849, d. 19 May 1914.
Wendell (Finley), b. Sept 1851.
Peter II, b. 20 Feb. 1853, d. 21 Dec 1928.
Bernard Finley, b. Feb 1850, d. 17 Feb 1933.
Joseph died 14 Dec 1887 and is buried at St. Magdalena Cemetery. This
cemetery was moved from the Jefferson Proving Ground. His last will and
testament is recorded in Ripley Co. Courthouse Book, D, Wills, 07 Sept
1871-22 Nov 1887.
