Yes, sharing is nice but, much of my research is done by mail. After I
locate the item I want, usually by hiring a researcher, pay him / her,
pay for a copy of the item and the postage, then spend hours trying to
decipher the handwriting and typing it up, you darn better believe that
I want some credit for it! The documents are public information but the
effort and cost is mine. That's not being selfish. I'll share with
anyone but you steal my work and take credit for it and this sweet old
lady becomes mad as a hornet. It's just common decency and plain old
good manners. When and where did stealing become OK?
