I have an ancestor who was a Mahler - Louisa Dorathea Mahler (b. 5 Oct
1833 in Buchren (near Dudensen), Kingdom of Hanover; d. 14 Sep 1900 in
Batesville, IN; m. 10 Jan 1854 to Adolphus Klingelhoffer in Aurora, IN).
She was the daughter of Diedrich Mahler and Luise Frommling.
Is Louisa a member of your family tree? Unfortunately I know nothing
more about the Mahler family.
FamilySearch.com has a record of a William Mahler marrying Alice Roof on
29 July 1888 in Dearborn County, Indiana. This is likely the marriage
you want.
There is also a death record for a William Mahler, b. 07 Apr 1854 in
Batesville, Ripley Co, Indiana; d. 16 Dec 1963. Don't know if this is
your William Mahler or another.
If you wish any additional info on Louisa's children or the
Klingelhoffer line, just ask.

Message Board Post:
I've searched and can't seem to find an index online that might cover
the years around 1888 for Ripley county. Is there anyone out there who
could look for a marriage for a William Mahler and Alice P. (Unknown)
before 1889? - the first child I find for them was born in March 1889.
If not, can someone point me in the direction of someone who could look.
Thanks
