I'm reading your email several days' late, but if you have not received an
answer, I think this is what you will find. The Naturalization papers were
taken to the Indiana State Archives. Volunteers, including the late Ann L
Skene, who had a genealogy interest in Ripley County, have been putting
these in a database. You can check the website for the agency and get a
phone number. You can also ask if the Ripley Co naturalizations have been
entered in a database. Some of these have been published in the IGS
quarterly over the past few years.
Since these papers were generated by the State of Indiana, they properly
belong in state hands. Contacting the Historical Society to explain the
issue would have been a good public relations move. Perhaps now a
microfilm copy, or database copy to the Historical Society, would make up
for that.

Im sorry but you must have misunderstood. Ive been looking for Ripley
county Naturalization papers, too but my freind said that the state came
in a few years ago and boxed them up and took them away without the
Historical Societys consent. However, she said there may be a number to
call upstate and I will try to get that number today. If I can I will post
it.Ive already tried calling upstate and I get sent from one place to
another. I will let you know.
