I would also be interested in any Ripley County obituaries from the period
1840-1890. Was there a newspaper published during this period?

Thank you for responding to my questions. Yes, I have been to the Ripley
Co. site & got some information from it. At this point I do not know
where my ancestors are buried. Isaac J. Levi was the Rev. War soldier
mentioned on the site & he was buried at a family cemetery (1850) that is
now supposedly lost to farm land. I do not know if his son, Isaac L., is
also there. He died in 1861& his wife in 1873. I am hoping obituaries
might help. Could you find out when newspapers there started there &
where the microfilm or copies of these obits might be?
