Am not researching this line, just trying to be helpful. You may have this, but, here
goes. First though, the spelling is from the original census forms. In the 1860 census
for Ripley county, Brown township, P.O of Cross Plains, page 116, the family was headed by
Fedrich Libbe, 30, a farmer with real estate worth $1000 and personal estate worth $300,
born in Germany, and included Henrietta, 25, Germany, - Elizabeth, 4, Ind and Lucy, 2,
Ind. In the 1870 census for Ripley county, Brown township, P.O. of Milan, page 12, the
family was headed by Frederick Lubbe, 42, a farmer with real estate worth $2000 and
personal estate worth $500, born in Hanover (Germany), and included Eliza, 31, keeping
house, Hanover, - Lizzie, 13, at home, Ind, - Frederic, 10, at home, Ind, - Anna, 8, Ind,
- Sophia, 6, Ind, - Eugenia, 4, Ind, and Louis, 2, Ind. In the 1880 census for Ripley
county, Brown township, Dist 152, page 5, the family was headed by Frederick Lubbe, 51,
farmer, born in Hanove!
r as were both parents, and included his wife Henrietta, 45, keeping house, Hanover as
were both parents, his son Frederick, 19, farming, Ind, his daughter Annie, 17, keeping
house, Ind, his daughter Sophia, 15, Ind, and his son Lewis, 13, Ind. As you probably
know the 1890 census was destroyed in a fire, In the 1900 census the family had moved to
Dearborn county, Caesar Creek township, ED 32, page 1B, and was headed by Frederick Lubbe,
71, born June 1828, Married 49 years, a farmer, born in Germany, and included his wife
Nettie, 64, Oct 1835, married 49 years, mother of 7 of which 5 were still living, and his
son Lewis, 33, May 1867, a farm laborer, Ind. Hopw this helps. Don
