Janet,
Check out the township map located at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inripchs/shelbytwp.html
It locates the cemeteries in this township which are listed at:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~inripchs/townships.html
I am unfamiliar with this part of Ripley County (I grew up in Dearborn
County). Over half of the township lies within Jefferson Proving
Grounds (JPG) so your ancestors' graves may have been moved, or the
markers destroyed over the years the Army was actively using JPG, if
they lived in the western half of the township.

Happy New Year, Could you tell me where Shelby Township is located
within Ripley county? Need to find an early Catholic Church who might
have records on my Jacob and Elizabeth Hill family. Children Nicholas,
ELizabeth, Margaretha, Peter and Casper, were listed in 1850. Thank
you, Janet.
