Al, Thanks for the response but the "parents records" are the source of the
problem as they are in Germany. The kids came to America together in their
early 20's but the parents stayed put in Germany.
One elderly lady who has been researching the family swears that she found the
family's records in Germany and there were 5 kids. I have a genealogical
family tree that I just found in my mother's papers that was put together in
1953 which calls out 4 kids in the Ripley-to-Cincinnati area. The kicker is
that 2 of the siblings of John Henry Harves that I have do not match the names
that this lady has.
Hence the reason for the posting - to find out if I can connect with either an
Owens or King researcher in Ripley Co. If not, I will work the county/church
marriage records.

Hi Rick:
The problem you have is that almost all records are in the given and surname
of the husband. The only time you find a woman is when she becomes a widow
and the head of her own household.
To find if Dora Owens King was the sister of John Henry Harves is to find
the parents of him. So the question is when was he born? Then go into the
census for that time and you will find him and his sister. Al and Margaret

One source says yes, another no.
