Hi Beverly,
I don't know yet what date we will be in Ripley Co. We are going to be in Indiana
from Nov. 1 to Nov. 7. We hope to go up to the ACPL one day and we are going to Edgar
Co., IL one day also. The largest problem is that the trip is intended to spend time with
my sister-in-law who is terminally ill. We are hoping she will feel up to going on these
trips with us as she is a research librarian and worked for the Indianapolis Star. If you
wouldn't mind getting in touch with me off list I would appreciate it.
Thank you,
Jan B.

Batesville has a library that has lots and lots of info. There is also a
Family History Center in Batesville, let me know when you will be in
Batesville and I will meet you there incase you come when it is not open.
As for Milan library, I think they opened one in the old bank on Carr St.
Hope I have helped.
Bev.
Thanks everyone for your help. I will need directions for the
Society
because the website just gives a P.O. Box. If someone would be so kind as
to provide that I would really appreciate it. I was looking at the index
for the Toph Papers and it would be insane of me to try to deal with all the
pages I would need by snail mail.
I used to live in Indy for many, many years and have spent a great deal of
time in
the State Library. I hope parking has improved, it was horrible to
try and find parking 15 years ago and I am now handicapped as well.
I am also hoping to do some searching in the Batesville Library. Is there
a
library in Milan? If so, what is the address, I would like to search
there as well.
Thank you all,

Jan,
I live in Indianapolis, and am sure the folders Barb speaks of are in
Ripley County at the Historical Society, she will be able to tell you how
to
get there. I plan to make the same trip in the future. If you have
time
go to
the State Library here in Indianapolis they have a good genealogy
department
with lots of information. Of course nothing is as good as visiting
the
actual
County you are researching.
