George C. Harman married Miranda Alice Fields on March 4, 1883 in Randolph
County, Indiana. She was the daughter of Obadiah Fields and Mary Stick. I
have the Fields line in my data base which I can share with you if you are
interested.
I found George C. Harman on the 1870 Federal census living with his father,
Daniel Harman born 1814-1816 in Germany and his mother, Catherine, born
1814-1821 in Pennsylvania. They were in White River, Randolph County, IN.
On the 1860 Federal census, Daniel & Catherine were living in (Post Office
Canal Winchester), Madison Township, Franklin County, Ohio, and had the
following children: Daniel born 1844 in Ohio; Catherina born 1847 in Ohio;
Jacob born 1853 in Ohio. George born 1860 in Ohio and Wesley born 1864
in Indiana were on the 1870 census. There was also a female named Emma
born 1853 in Pennsylvania that I believe was the wife of Jacob. They appear
together in later census documents.
On the 1870 Federal census living next to Daniel was Henry Harman born
1810-1812 in Germany married to Philapena (Fry) also born in Germany in
1810.
They had four children: Nicholas born 1848; Frank born 1851; Liza born 1854
and Caroline born 1857. This is most probably Daniel's brother. Family
trees
show that Henry died in Randolph County in 1880 and Philapena died in
Winchester
on April 13, 1878.
I saw your picture and family tree on Ancestry. If you want the Fields
family data,
please contact me directly at tcw26(a)cox.net. Hope this all helps.

Message Board Post:
I'm trying to research my husband's family line. They originated from
Germany. His ggrandfather, George C. Harman, was born abt 1861 in Ohio - d
abt 1943 in Indiana. I have a picture of these Harman men, no names, with
the following written on the back: Harman's from Germany living in
Farmland, IN. My husband remembers seeing a picture that showed some
family members standing to something called a "drey line" (they supposedly
had their own business).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
