Andrea
This should have the information you need,
I have all my paper on NY and Boston packed away
If this does not answer your question
I will dig out the address for you where I wrote.
NY and Boston will have the adoption I guess, I could
not get the information from them on my William
Brown, it seems mine was put on and taken off the train
in Indiana.

Ellie, would these agreements for adoption and fostering been done at the
local county level or through NY and Boston? If it was done at the county
level, then the adoptions at least will be filed at the County Clerk's
office, in the Civil Court Records, adoptions were public here until the
1941 or 42. I've only looked for one adoption in the early 1910s, and
didn't find the adoption on record, think the family didn't do it through
the courts officially. I did not have a date just a time period, and a
vague guess of the child's former name. So I have not had any luck on this
avenue. But maybe someone else will or has and can share what kind of
things they found and where. Andrea
