I think you need to go through the county courthouse, see when they bought land (if they
did) and also to look for wills. Those would be two different deptments. Land records
are in the Recorder's Office and wills are in the Clerk's office. You might also
try looking for other marriage records for that family. I wish we had gazzetters for then
and other things as well. Sure would be helpful. Also, in the clerk's office would
be civil court records which are public, to see if she was placed in custody/or some kind
of legal guardianship as a minior maybe with this family, since you are not finding her
family directly here.
County Courthouse is located at 100 S. Main Street, Winchester, IN 47394. You might call
and see what they can find first in order to know how much to send. They charge $1 a
copy.
I'm not sure who is in charge of the Recorder's Office, but Claudia Thornburg is
the current County Clerk.
