WW1 veteran, matches the date of the obit from ealier posting. I think were on the right
track here.
You should see if you can get this fellow's military records, should list his
birthdate and maybe other info. I would also look into the local newspaper where he live
during WW1 and see what articles about local boy to serve in Marines and so forth. Mother
might of gotten a letter from him and put it in the newspaper, they did that sometimes
back then. There might even be a photo of him in the paper.
I would also suggest that you contact the cemetery and get burial/plot and so on for
genealogy purposes. He has a military stone that does not list birthdate, but should be
on the paperwork in the office of the cemetery.
You can request a photo of the stone via findagrave if it proves out to be your
george's dad.
