Does anyone have information about the old one room schools in Randolph
County? I have recently found an old picture of School # 8. I think it was in
or around Farmland. The teacher was Georgia West and there were 28
students. My grandfather is one of those students. He was born in 1903 and looks
to be about 8 or 9 in the picture so I think it was from around 1911-14. I
just wondered exactly where it was, who else might have been in that
picture, or if there is somewhere that has that information.

There was also a school called "Pinhook school" in Randolph County. I have an
article about it filed away. Does anyone know where it was located and anything about it?
I believe there was also a Pinhook church. I'll have to look for the news'
article.

Did the News-Gazette stop reporting obits in the online version? The last
two times I've tried to look at them, it says "No listings have been
received for online publication for this day." When I try to look at past
days/weeks, it says the same thing. If they are no longer sharing online,
I'm very disappointed!
