Jethro Macy
_____
Word was received here Saturday afternoon that Jethro Macy, father of Mrs. John J. Mayer ,
of this city, had died at on o'clock at his home in Farmland. Mr. Macy was eighty
years old, and was formerly a resident of Monroe Township, this county, and will be
remembered by the older people of the south part of the county. He was a veteran of the
Civil War, a kind and loving husband and father, and a good neighbor and citizen. He was a
devout Christian and a life-long member of the Friends Church from which the funeral
services were held. Interment was made in the Maxville Cemetery.
*There is no headstone for Jethro Macy. His burial plot is on record at the
Maxville-Woodlawn Cemetery. Mrs. John J. Mayer was Jethro's step-daughter Ida L.
Keegan.
