There was a fellow last week that when he passed, his funeral was
held at
Deerfield Methodist Church but he was buried at Bluff Point, Jay County,
Indiana, where there is a Friends Meeting house. There is also another
Friends church called Randolph Friends not to far from Deerfield, it is
not
a part of IYM and I don't know how long it's been a meeting. The pastor
there is John Edwards. You should contact Tom Hamm at the IYM archives in
the Lilly Library at Earlham College. Many meetings have old documents
and
minutes stored there in the archive. For an obit, you might contact the
Indiana State Library to see if there was one in any of the local
newspapers. There was one at least in Winchester at that time; there was
one as early as the 1840s. Not sure when the Union City newspaper started
but the microfilm at the Union City library starts in 1883 I think.

Subject: [INRANDOL] Jarrett - Taylor - Nesmith Genealogy
I am looking for any information or ideas where to look for my 3 great
grandparents - as follows:
George Rozell Taylor 1814, New Jersey - 30 Mar 1876 Deerfield, Randolph
County, IN.
married 1844 in Ohio
Margaret Nesmith 1818, New Hampshire - ? (most likely Randolph County).
They had the following children:
Charles, abt 1845
Mary, 1847
Maria Bennett, 1850, married Clarence Jarret 1877 in Deerfield, IN (my
2
great grandparents).
Helen, 1853
Josephine, 1856
George, Jr., 1857
Annie, 1861
This family were Quakers. I can trace George and Margaret's ancestors way
back and also their descendants but I can not figure out when or where
Margaret died or where they are buried. Would there be any obits for
George's death on the 30 of March 1876?
I am stuck so any help would be great!
Thanks so much,
Carole Trook-Hacker
