All,
If you follow this message exchange and can help us locate Robert
Eugene Bosworth please feel free to contact either myself or Bryan Besso
at his email address.
Billy, Thanks for getting back to me. Post away and, if you find the
person or family, I would be happy to send it along. It is 10K gold so
the family may want it just for the scrap value but I think the memory
would be worth more! Do what ever you can. Thanks Bryan
Billy, It is R.E. ? and I can't read the last one it is partial, could
be a P or B or R only part is showing. Ring is a little beat up and was
found in Wayland, Massachusetts several, make that many, years ago.
sorry I can't provide more. Bryan
Hi Bryan,
What a noble notion you have to attempt to return this ring to its
owner. I checked my own class ring from the class of 1949 (Yes, I still
have it) and it matches your description. I am sure that it belonged to
a member of the class of 1955 of the Union City, Indiana West Side High
School.
I checked my copy of the School Directory published by the Alumni
Association. The only possible fit for the inscription you read, "R E
_" has to be Robert Eugene Bosworth if you are indeed positive of the
first two initials. Unfortunately, I do not know this man. If you wish
to go public with your find we could post your message to the Randolph
County Genealogical Researchers List to see if someone else might be
able to recognize this man's name.
Come back to me with your wishes to further locate this man.
Respectfully,
Billy J. Baker

Greetings, Just a chance but, I found a man's High School Ring
years
ago in the sand and I threw it into a parts drawer in my garage for
the gold scrap. I noticed it this week and I thought it might be an
interesting past-time to seek out it's owner. It is a square red
stone with 19 on one side and 55 on the other. The ring is beat up
but I can read two of the three letter inside and they are R. E. ?
(unable to read the third) The motto is Just do your best. Union City
High School on the front on a crest placed in the stone. Any
Information you may provide would be appreciated. if the owner can be
found I will send it back to him. Bryan bbesso(a)verizon.net
