I am sorry to be so long in getting the picture to you. I have the photo
and will sending it to you by usmail. The date did not show up in any
of the pictures that I took but it is 57 and the picture is on cardboard.
I see what you mean by spam. We have protection on our computer but the
other day one e-mail got in anyway.

Actually there is a lake, on back of the race track, this was all the
Funk's
land, Funk's Speedway (now the Winchester Speedway) and the lake further
back that road is what was called Funk's Lake. Frank Funk had a Park back
there. I was just talking with someone on Saturday who lives back there
currently, he said that he has seen pictures of a giant slide that was
back
there during the hay day.

6&t=h&z=16 Yes there are family still there, Mr. Funk's son-in-law still
lives there on the family property, and there are kids and grands living
within a mile or two. I know the family personally, attend church with
some, meetings of other kinds with others. I will see Eileen on Wed
night,
I will ask her to do a write up about the race track and the Lake. That
would be nice to have.
Your original posting said the painting was done in 1857, did you mean
1957?
Can you scan it in and share?
To bad Sue and I didn't know about this yesterday, we would of paid
attention on our way home from a meeting last night!

In our family we always called the lake, I believe, by the racetrack west
of
Winchester - Mills Lake. I am not sure if there is a family member
alive that could answer this question.
