Phyllis Hiatt
Phyllis Hiatt, 78, of Versailles, passed away peacefully at 1:10
A.M. on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the Versailles Health Care Center.
Phyllis was born January 16, 1931 in Saratoga, Indiana, to the late Webster
& Pearl (Jennings) Isenbarger.
She was a 1949 Graduate of Saratoga High School. She worked at
the Sweet Shop in Versailles; she worked many years at Midmark in
Versailles; and for SCOPE, serving meals at the Senior Citizens Center. She
attended the Versailles United Methodist Church. Phyllis loved to cook. Her
children remember having fried chicken at least once a week growing up. Her
homemade noodles and pies were especially tasty!
In addition to her parents, Phyllis is also preceded in death by
a grandson, Adam Marchal; sisters, Marcella Isenbarger and Deanie Warren;
and brother, Bob Isenbarger.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Colleen &
Frank Marchal of Greenville; son & daughter-in-law, Steve & Roxanne Hiatt of
Waynesville; grandsons, Alex Marchal, Matt Hiatt and Brandon Hiatt;
brothers, Bill & Marceil Isenbarger of Saratoga, Indiana, Delbert (Deb) &
Marguerite Isenbarger of Saratoga, Indiana and Webster & Patsy Isenbarger of
Sebring, Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2009
at 2:30 P.M. at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Pastor Dennis
Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Lisbon Cemetery in Union City,
Indiana. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M.
at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made
to State of the Heart Hospice.
