Are you Ludys connected to the Ludys in Winchester IN? Darke Co is just 10 miles from
there. The older ones I can remember are Olive, India and maybe Robert. I was close
friends with Roberta, Charles and Glen Bob in the 40's.

you rang all my bells, we have corresponded some long time ago. You are correct, Dad was
born in Darke County about 1878 and his dad, Grandpa and Grandma, Sarah Forsythe, migrated
to Remus, Michigan, (Mecosta County)between his birth and 1900. I have traced the whole
gang back to Germany and have found the Daniel migrated to U.S. through Phillie before
1727, Peter was born in 1727 and at that time the name spelling was Ludi, Peter ended up
changing it to Ludy as behinh his fires name in the history it is spelled both ways.
Daniel being his dad. I have a whole bunch of other names and tracked them down from Pa.
to Md to Darke County. If you want more I will be sending the info to you. Double check
me as I am 85 years and not as swift as I used to be. My dad was a Blacksmith and was
killed accidentally in 1929 as he had closed the blacksmith shop due to lack of work and
was working for the City of Jackson Michigan as a Tree Trimmer at Ella Sharp Park. He
landed on his !
saw and died the same day as a result of the fall. I was a ripe of 4 year old at the
time. Let me know if I can fill gaps. Best regards, Bill Ludy old Retired ATF Special
Agent in Charge.
