Judy:
Can you tell me if Sarah Rhoda/Rhody/Rhodey who married John Galbreath is
the sister of Thomas Rhoda/Rhody who married Margaret Driver on April 3,
1828 in Randolph County. Are Sarah and Thomas siblings? I found a record
for
Thomas Rhoda in 1800 in Hillsboro, Orange, North Carolina. I believe this
is the father of Thomas born 1800 there and possibly Sarah too. Thomas
Rhoda is on the 1830 census in White River, Randolph County; 1840 under
Thomas Rhody in Stoney Creek, Randolph County; in 1850 back under Rhoda in
Monroe, Randolph County. In 1860 he is in Lebanon, Cooper County, Missouri
under Rhody. George Driver and family are there too. There is one mention
of a George A. Rhody born in 1841 in the 1900 census for Stoney Creek,
Randolph County. He was the son of Thomas Rhoda. He served in Co. A. of
the 147th from Randolph County during the Civil War. Thomas had 4 daughters
which I have not been able to trace: Lydia M. 1837; Mary J. 1835; Nancy C.
or C. J. 1839-1841;Sarah A. 1845-1846 - all born in Randolph County and on
the 1850 census. Can you please contact me directly at tcw26(a)cox.net.
Thanks - Karen

Thought I would try again to look for information on the JOHN
GALBREATH -b:May 13, 1831 in the state of VA or PA and who married in
Randolph Co., IN on May 20, 1852 (by Jacob Eltgroth / JP) to Nancy Ann
Driver -b: Sept 20, 1830. Nancy Ann Driver was a daughter of James and
Sarah (Rhody) Driver.
John GALBREATH was listed on 1870 Jefferson Co., Nebraska census record as
a Retail Dry Goods Merchant and on the 1880
Jewell Co, Kansas as a Farmer.
John Galbreah is said to have had a partner in his Dry Goods Business.
Looking for a list of names of early 1850's businesses in the Farmland or
Winchester area.
This John and Nancy (Driver) Galbreath were in Missouri by 1857 then on to
Iowa in 1861 and in Nebraska by 1869 and Kansas in 1878 where John died in
Smith Center, Smith Co., KS in 1898.
Any help appreciated - Thanks in advance.
