found the obit for the man who owned the Walker funeral home for at least 40
years (see below).

Garl Walker
Mr. Walker died at Westminster Village on Monday, May, 3, 2010. He was born
in Montpelier, IN on March 4, 1913 to Harvey T. and Nellie Freeman Walker.
He attended Montpelier schools, Indiana University, and the Indiana College
of Mortuary Science. He married Betty Daly in 1938 and they moved to
Winchester in 1941 when he bought into the Clark and Maynard Funeral Home,
later the Walker Funeral Home.
He was active in economic and community development in Winchester, serving
on the Chamber of Commerce Board and the White River Valley Boy Scout
Council. He joined the Board of Directors of the Randolph County Bank and
served as chairman for several years. Other affiliations included the
Winchester Kiwanis Club, of which he was president, the First United
Methodist Church, the Delaware Country Club in Muncie, and the Moorings
Country Club in Naples, FL. He was on the board of directors of The Surfside
Club of Naples. He was a 33-degree Mason as well as a member of the Scottish
Rite.
His wife of 64 years, Betty, predeceased him in 2004. He is survived by his
daughter, Sandra Kelly (Eric) of Muncie, his son, Dr. G. Daly Walker of
Brown County and Boca Grande, FL; his grandchildren, Beth Cottingham (Chris)
and Sarah Walker of Indianapolis; Walker Marsh of Muncie; Jane Wargo
(Christian) of Dunkirk, MD; and Katie Hyams (Dr. Eli) of New York, NY. There
are three great grandchildren, Daly Wargo and Jacqueline and Teri
Cottingham. Also surviving is one brother, Gale Walker (Doris) of
Indianapolis.
Services for Mr. Walker will be Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. in the Walker
Funeral Home in Winchester with the Rev. Ron Naylor officiating. Calling
hours will be one hour before the service in Winchester or from 4-6 p.m. on
Tuesday at the Kelly residence, 2312 W. Audubon Dr. in Muncie. Burial will
be in the Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.
