Roger, I did not have any luck looking for your Nancy, I have looked in 1900 and 1901obits
from Winchester newspapers and she was not there under either surnames, that doesn't
mean she is not in the Union City paper though, Billy Baker may be able to look that up
for you I think or maybe Austin Cox. I also did a quick look for her in the Union City
Cemetery, with no luck. I do have some other things for you though, one the NewGarden
Friends Meeting is still in existance (I can get you a connact if you are interested), it
and Whitewater (unless you meant Whiteriver Friends which is in Randolph Co) are both in
Wayne county IN. New Garden is west of US 27 near Fountain City, Whitewater is south of
Bethel near IN227. You can get more information possibly (Friends stuff) by contacting
....Tom Hamm, tomh(a)earlham.edu. He works at the Lilly Library at Earlham and is the
Yearly Meetings Custodian of Records. His phone # at the library is 765-983-1511. He can
look for items for!
people
especially from meetings that have been laid down (closed by Indian Yearly Meeting and
other Yearly Meetings).
When you are ready you can go to my web-site and go to the tools page and download the
death certificate form from there to fill out and send in for her, as long as she died in
1882 or after. There also might be some info on them in the old directories.

I am looking for info on the death of Nancy Ellison probably between 1880
and 1900. Nancy was the wife of James M. (Mathew) Ellison. They had 2 sons
James Franklin (Frank) b. 1877 m. Lulu Snell 1899.d.around 1960-62. Lulu
died 1955 I believe. James (Mathew) d. 1920 in the Randolph Co. Infirmary.
The other son was Stephen Edward went mostly by Edward. Any info would be
greatly appreciated. Nancy's maiden name was Kirkman and my grandfather
(Edward) said he was raised partly by relatives. It is possible she is the
Mary Ellison who died in 1882 as the age would be correct. Also I know Nancy
did have some connection to some Friends Churches in the area ( Whitewater
and New Garden). They lived in the Union City area when the boys were born.
Thanks in advance. You may email me with any info.
Roger
