Hi all. I was working on my Jay Co. newspaper clippings book, and came
accross this obituary for a Randolph Co. native. Thought I would post in in
case it is of help to someone. This was in the Portland Democrat, Nov. 11,
1886.
Obituary Florence L. (Wickersham) Wright, wife of J. L. Wright, was born
in Randolph Co., Ind. Feb. 21, 1863, and died at her home, 4 miles north of
Dunkirk, Jay County, Ind., Oct. 22, 1886, aged 23 years, 8 months, and 1
day. She was converted and joined the M. E. church, at the age of 13. She
was a devoted and exemplary wife, a tender and loving mother and sister.
She leaves a husband and small children, father, step-mother, three sisters,
two half-brothers, and a large circle of friends to mourn her early death.
Her remains were interred in Camden Cemetery, mid the tears of a large
concourse of people who circled her grave.
