Marion Linder Stricken Today
Marion L. Linder, 87, 431 S. Walnut St., died at 9 a.m. today at the Blackford
County Hospital after a long illness. He had been in failing health the
past two years and was admitted to the hospital July 27.
Mr. Linder, a former bottle blower, was retired from the old Hartford City
Paper Mill. He was a former Blackford County treasurer from 1920 to 1925.
A native of Randolph County, Mr. Linder was the son of Samuel and Belle
Kegerreis Linder. He moved to Blackford County with his parents when he
was two years old. He was married to the former Mary (Molly) Flatter who
survives.
An elder in the Presbyterian Church, Mr. Linder was a senior member of
the church choir and was very active in church affairs. He was a senior
member of the old Hartford City band and his hobby was music.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Richman-Markin
Chapel with Rev. Elsworth Morack officiating. Burial will follow in the
IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
Surviving, in addition to his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Crystal Weaver,
Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and Mrs. P. L. (Viola) Whittenbarger, Chatsworth, Ill.:
three sisters, Mrs. Zora Eikenbary and Mrs. Jose Waters, both of Hartford
City, and Miss Lyda Linder, Muncie: nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildreb,
one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. One son is deceased.
