Dear Nancy, I have searched every census I can find! John WAS born in Aug
1804. So, the age is consistant-however the family information is not fitting
with the other information I have. I have to be honest with you all and tell you
that I am sorely wishing I had married a man named Xyzle or some other
something! WOW. I am applying for a name change as soon as I can drag him to the
judge's office! And yes, his name is John as well.
Here is what I have on my John Sutton Johnson:
1804- born- 25 Aug, Washington Co. Pa. (per his will, his obit, and the
Sutton family bible)
1805- moved to Hamilton Co., Ohio with his parents, Nathaniel and Mary Sutton
Johnson
1810 census- not determined which they are
1820 census-not determined which they are
1827- 22 Aug-md Susanna Sheldon (dau of Thomas Sheldon)-where? I don't know.
1828-2 Aug, son Nathaniel B. born in Lebanon Ohio
1830-census- not found
1831-dau Beulah born -Ohio
1833-son Thomas Sutton Johnson born-Ohio
1837-son George B. born- later becomes a methodist minister-got his info out
the ying-yang

1840-dau Mary Ann born, later is md to B. F. W. Stewart,
1843- son William Christie Johnson born
1846-son John Lawson Johnson born- Clermont Co., Ohio
1850 Census, should be in Ohio. not found- want to strangle myself by now!
1860 Census, should be in Ohio- want to strangle husband now
1863-moved to Union City, Randolph Co., Indiana - per obit n Randolph Co.
Paper
1870-Census- where the heck is this guy?Should be in Randolph Co. Ind. -gonna
strangle my father in law at this point!
1879- wife, Susanna dies- on 01 Dec- burial place supposedly City Cem. Union
City, Ind.
1880-Census- (*^%^&^0 jerk.
1888-June- stricken with Apoplexy- per obit in Randolph Co. Paper
1888-25 Aug, dies in home of BFW and Mary Ann (Johnson) Stewart- per Obit...
1888-26 Aug. Buried in City Cemetery, Union City, Randolph Co., Indiana.
additional notes on this fella:
4 sons and 2 son in laws were pallbearers
Was in Mercantiles-and-
Worked as a director, v-p, and finally president of a prominent banking
establishment in Union City.
Yikes- I would give my eye-teeth (okay- my momma's upper plate) to have a
copy of the obit in the paper- inlaws don't like to share too much (reckon I
should've been nicer)- I cannot even find B. F. W. Stewart in the 1880 census. I
guess today I am going to work backwards- I am wondering if my John Sutton
Johnson lived with his dau Mary Ann and her hubby B F W... why would you give a
guy 3 initials? He shoulda choked his parents- sigh. OH DEAR! I did the same
thing to my son!- I think I am going to leave VERY good genealogical proof for
desc. to come!
Thank you again
Di
