I have been a target of this new "worm" this week, along with so many others.
Thank goodness that I have Norton Anti-virus and Internet Protection! I am warned that an
attempt has been made to get into my computer, and the message is deleted. I have found
that these messages come in pairs however, several minutes apart. The first is
intercepted and deleted and I am informed of the attempt. The next one comes along and is
not stopped, the computer thinks that was already deleted. However the first attempt gives
me the subject line and sender information, so I know who to look for, and I can delete
that one,too.
The scarey thing was that one of the 11 pairs yesterday said that it was from
roots-web! Ithink that the worm raided someone's address file and was able to make
that connection. That just hit a little too close to home!
However these worm all have attachments that must be opened to infect. The only way
that I knew about this infection was because I saw the deleted Subject line first. So be
sure who the e-mail is really from!
