Diane,
Yes this is the same family.
Nancy's mother was Nancy Shockley Clevenger. And I am pretty sure that the
Mary Shockley listed with them is Nancy Shockley's mother.
I had been trying to find a John and Nancy with a little Nancy and finally
found them, I had been looking in Indiana for them so it took me awhile to
find them.
Thing is, I was also searching for and Alfred Clevenger for another one of
my family lines and didn't realize Alfred and Nancy were siblings until I
found that census record again. I couldn't believe I had the information all
that time and didn't make the connection. <G>
I believe Alfred Clevenger was named after Nancy's brother Alfred Shockley.
Or perhaps her father?? I don't have the name of her father yet but I
thought I had seen a record somewhere that stated his name was Alfred too.
Shockleys and Clevengers married a few times, and I have found Clevengers
listed with Shockleys on census records. But I don't have much information
yet on the Shockley family line.
Gina,
