This may be of some help. Carroll co. MD was formed out of Baltimore Co. and Frederick
Co., in 1837. Many folks who lived in Baltimore Co., then found themselves in Carroll Co.
Carroll Co. Chancery Records.

John Deal, of Baltimore Co., died ca. 1815-1820. intestate, leaving widow, Rachael Deal
(nee Powder), who later married Samuel Hooker of Baltimore Co and became known as Rachael
Hooker. Children: Mary Gittinger, of Ohio or Indiana, wife of Jacob Gittinger; Sarah Harry
of Ohio or Indiana, widow of Tobias Harry; David P. Deal, dec'd, died in 1841,
intestate, no issue. Widow, Catherine Deal who later married and became known as Catherine
Shue, of PA; and Jonas Deal.
Property situate part in Baltimore and Carroll Co on west side of Baltimore-Hanover
turnpike, being parts of "Manheime Town", "Hooker's Meadow
Resurveyed" and "Jerusalem".
