Listers,
Is there a complete listing of burials for Randolph Cnty, Jay Cnty and Wayne Cnty? All
roads keep leading back to that area for my
gg grandfather's
missing body. The govt seems to have lost his body and since I can't find gg granny
too, I suspect she and gg granddaddy are
hanging
out together. They moved around a lot when they were living. I hope they aren't
doing the same now!
GG Granddaddy was almost court martialed because his bloodied and bare feet caused him to
fall behind and be captured. He was
released eventually and went through the court martial proceedings, acquitted and went
back to duty. He was later wounded at
Kennesaw Mtn and sent to Jeffersonville where he died. All during this time he thought
his son was killed in action - and died
thinking that.
I hope to find his burial site and do him the honor he has so long deserved.
Thanks,
Shirl in OH
I can't speak for the other two counties, but Monisa Wisener at the
Historical Society has a nearly complete list, I think. There is information
on how to contact her on the web site.

Do you have any more information about the "historical society?" Would this
be for Randolph County? If so, may I also have the street address...Would
like any information about Randolph County Historical Society which you or
others may have and be willing to share.
