<< Hello Everyone,
I am looking for Christian H. Wright, son to Rees Wright and Rebbeca Hoffman.
Christian would be the grandson to John Hominy Wright and Margaret Rees.
Christian H. Wright was born abt. 1838 in Randolph County, Indiana and
married Mary E. Carter. Christian and Mary had a son named John R. Wright
who was born 8-28-1868 in Randolph COunty, Indiana. John R. Wright was a
Lawyer and a Justice of the peace and formed a co-partnership with U.B. Hunt
in a law practice. If anyone knows anything about these lines I would love
to hear from you. I am very curious about Christian H. Wright and Mary E.
Carters children. Thank you for any help that you can offer. Ann >>
I have the following on this WRIGHT family, beginning with the earliest
ancestor. I do not show your Rees WRIGHT, so if you do find a link to his
questionable parents, please do let me know!
Regards,
Marta Jackson Vaillancourt

-was puny at first, and was rocked in an old trunk-cover lined with the skin
of a sea-animal, the hair on which is said to rise and fall with the tides.
As he grew up he gained strength and vigor. About 1804, the Wrights
emigrated to Ohio, to military lands. In 1814, or thereabouts, the 12 mile
strip came into market, and some fourteen or fifteen families, who lost their
lands on the military tract through a flaw in the title, came soon afterward,
to Randolph County, IN. They had fine improvements in Ohio, but they lost
the whole. James and Abram Wright moved first of this company and John
Hominy Wright came and selected some land, but did not move then. James and
Abram Wright settled on Eight-mile creek. William Haworth came with them. (
much more information here, from recollections of his son Solomon Wright on
p. 92 of this source book)2

IN in 1817. Moved moved here in 1817 or 1818, but Solomon came sooner. He
moved to his future home, probably in 1817. He took up his abode on what has
since been known as the Brooks farm, 2 1/2 miles west of Winchester.3

in 1817. His father moved here in 1817 or 1818, but Solomon came sooner.
His uncle William Haworth, and also one of his older brothers had preceded
him to Randolph Co. IN and Solomon and still another brother came by
themselves, with one horse between them, all the way from Clinton Co., OH.
