This is a mini-jackpot for me. Thanks to Marta for helping find this. I
especially appreciate the sources listed. You can bet I will email that
guy in Kentucky (John Vice).
Does anyone have a Sarah HOBSON link??? Is Sarah HOBSON related to
Virena HOBSON?
Sources below look good.
The name Phebe might come from Nancy Wall Macy's side of the family -
her father John1 Wall might be related to John Wall and Phebe Buffington
who married 1740 in Chester Co., PA. I have also seen a reference to
Samuel HALL (b. ? - died 1737 of Springfield, Chester county, PA whose
daughter was named Ann Wall. I wonder if this HALL line links up with
Nancy Wall.
Also looks as if Nancy might be about child #3 of John1 Wall and
Elizabeth Scarborough who married 1771 in Rowan County, NC and later
lived in Chester County, PA during the Rev. War. Based on the 1771
marriage date, child #1 would be born 1772, #2 about 1774, and #3 about
1776.
In the 1800 Census for Randolph County North Carolina, a John2 WALL is
listed, born between 1855 and 1874. This John2 Wall is too young to be
John1 WALL who married Elizabeth Scarborough in 1771. The expected
birthdate for a 1771 marriage would be about 1850 or earlier. (I had
estimated an 1848 birthdate). So there are other John WALL marriages
that might fit. The best one is a 1788 marriage of John 3 Wall to
Elizabeth Alexander in Guilford Co., NC. This gives an estimated 1767
birth date for John Wall2 of Randolph County, NC if same guy as John3.
2 males <10, Birth: 1790-1800 (could be Williamson WALL, b. 1798, and
Wills WALL? They both married RANDOL girls (see below)
1 male 10<16 (Could be Thomas Wall or Minsey Wall?) (Minsey married 1809
to Hannah MACY, sister of Albert MACY)
1 male 16<26 (Could be William Wall. He was born betw.1770-1780)** Could
be Soloman Wall, born 2-21-1782, NC)
1 male 26<45 (John Wall)
no males of 45 and over.
3 females <10 (No clues yet, but Mial WALL is one possibility)
1 female 10<16 (Could be Penny WALL who m. Thomas GRAVES 1803 Randolph
Co. NC)
1 female 16<25 (Could be William Wall's wife, first name begins with
C. Could they have married in PA?)* Could be Nancy WALL, born 1777, died
age 97 in Randolph Co., IN buried Swaim's Hill Cemetery there, married
Albert MACY 1803.
1 female 26<44 (Elizabeth Alexander? Her parentage unknown)
No females 45 and over.
