Hi Rex: Thanks, once more, for helping me out. Your info led me to the
following for the Reynard family:
Adam Reynard born in 1764 in Germany married Catherine Stover. They had 15
children, one of whom was Jeremiah born 1789 Franklin, VA/or Pennsylvania.
He married Sarah Howell. Their son Nathan married Eliza Ann Griffin and
their son, Granville was the subject of the posting on the Reynard family in
"Portrait & Biographical Record, Randolph County, IN" by A. W. Bowen that
Ida Anderson shared with the list.
Another son of Adam & Catherine was Solomon born 1798 married to Rachel
Green. Their son was Isaac born 1821 who married Lydia Barker and their son
was the Jesse C. Reynard you found on the census records who married a Keys
family member that ties back to my husband's line.
Another son of Solomon & Rachel Green was Jesse who married Anna Diggs.
Their son, Thomas C.
has been the topic of the most recent postings on the list. From what I
could gather, he
was born October 26, 1848 in White River Township, served in the Civil War
for the Union
from 11/26/1864 to 7/19/1865 as a Private in Company C of the 9th Indiana
Calvary Regiment.
One record showed he died on June 3, 1906 but I found no spouse or family
listed for him.
If anyone knows if I am missing anything or have the wrong data, please
advise - Karen

Hi Karen. There is a Jesse C. Rheynard listed on the 1880 Randolph
Co.
census in White River Township. He is 7 years old. Looks like a near
perfect match for your Jesse. His mother is Liddy (45 yrs old). There is
also a daughter, Annie (13 yrs old) in the household. All born in IN.
Liddy appears to be the "Lydia" Reynard listed in White River Township in
1870. The family is as follows:
Isaac Reynard 49 IN
Lydia 34 IN
Male 19 (can't make out the name) IN
George 17 IN
Annie M. "Knight" 3 IN
Looks like Annie (13 in 1880) was probably not a Reynard; but ended up
listed as a Reynard in 1880.
So... based on the 1880 and 1870 census, looks like Isaac and Lydia were
probably the parents of your Jesse.
You should be able to verify this without too much trouble, by locating
the
probate file on Isaac, in Randolph Co. Looks like he probably died
between
1870 and 1880. There is almost certainly a probate file for him since he
had a substantial value of real and personal property per the 1870 census.

Subject: [INRANDOL] Reynard Family
Have seen all the postings lately about the Reynard family. I have a
Jesse
Reynard born in 1872 in Indiana married to Anola Almira Keys born in 1880
in
Randolph County. Can any of you Reynard researchers tie this man to one
of
your family trees? Some listings show his father as Adam Reynard born in
Ohio in 1811 married to Patience Green born in North Carolina but that
would
make him 61 at the time of Jesse's birth. I found a census record for
White
River both in 1850 and 1860 for Adam but the youngest child was listed as
Joseph born about 1848-1849. Anyone know???
