Just read your letter and wanted to add my 2 cents worth.
I have found a great sight that you might be interested in to record your
personal history.
http://www.igrandparents.com has a wonderful 40 page book
that you can download off the net that tells your history. You fill in the
blanks. I have started filling out mine and intend to do one for my husband
as well. I also intend to send one to each of my grandchildrens other
grandparents. On their wedding day I will present them with these books and
a family tree.
You do need to join their free sight then go to their freebies. It's called
Family History Starter Kit.
thank you

This is a really good idea. How often I've wondered how my
ancestors felt
about certain things happening during their lifetimes - the loss of
several
children to epidemic, the civil war, having a secret black friend
during
the
days of slavery, the women's movement...etc. I'm writing a
book based on
the life of my gg grandmother, a bittersweet story, and so often I've
wished I could get into her heart and mind. It would give our future
generations an insight to who and what we are (were). It would also
undoubtedly contain details otherwise unrecorded that might be important
to
their own searches.
